Madeline’s Favorite Toddler Books For Halloween

If you have been reading my blog for a while, then you know that I absolutely LOVE story time with my daughter!  No matter how busy or hard the day has been, we always end the evening with story time in Madeline’s chair.  This is a tradition that I started when she was a baby, and it is one of my most treasured times of the day.  Little Miss Independent LOVES selecting the books herself nowadays, so I always keep a basket full of them in her room where they are easy to reach.

Right now, we are breaking out the Halloween and fall themed books to kick off the season.  As with any holiday, I like to keep all themed books and activities in a separate bucket.  If you want to learn about Madeline’s first Halloween bucket, then please click HERE.   I always set out her bucket at the start of the month, so she can enjoy learning about the holiday for several weeks and really celebrate the entire season.  Here is a picture of the Halloween bucket that she currently has in her room:

If you are wanting to start a holiday book bucket tradition, then look no further!  Here are Madeline and Mommy’s current favorite toddler books for Halloween:

Spooky, Spooky, Little Bat (link HERE) – This was a favorite last year too, and Madeline still loves it!  One of her favorite songs is Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, which is what this book plays against.  She absolutely adores the bat finger puppet in the center.

Spooky Pookie (link HERE) It seems like ANYTHING that Sandra Boynton writes, Madeline loves.  This is a Halloween themed Little Pookie book that is absolutely precious!.  Madeline’s favorite is when Little Pookie is going through all of the different costumes!  🙂

The Pumpkin Patch (link HERE)This is a new one for us this year, and it has been a big hit!  Madeline loves the rhyming that goes with the story, and she loves the shiny pumpkin cutouts featured throughout the pages.

Five Little Pumpkins (link HERE) This one has been HUGE in our house this year!  We first found this book during our Mommy & Me music class, and it has been a wonderful addition to our collection!

I Love You, Little Pumpkin (link HERE) – This is another fun rhyming book that has these huge flaps that Madeline absolutely loves!  Half of each rhyme is written on the back of the flap, so it really allows a lot of participation from both Mommy and her mini!  🙂

Spooky House (link HERE) – This one is also new to our home, and it has a ton of tiny flaps for children to flip through.  The different characters give you a tour of the spooky house before their Halloween party begins – so cute!  🙂

What are your favorite Halloween books?  Please leave a comment below, because I am always looking to add to Miss Madeline’s collection!  If you would like to read about more of our Halloween and fall traditions, then please click HERE, HERE and HERE.  Thanks for stopping by, and have a fantastic day!
