My Top Practical Baby Gifts For New Moms

Have you recently received an invitation to an upcoming baby shower for a new mom?  Are you tired of always giving someone a monogrammed gift and want to think a little more on the practical side?  If so, then here are my top practical baby items that I found to be super helpful when I had Madeline:

The BabyBum Brush (link HERE)

I have to admit, when I first heard of this thing, I thought it was completely crazy.  However, after applying diaper cream by hand ONCE,  I was convinced that I needed this product!  LOL!  It is basically a silicone spatula to apply diaper rash cream.  It is awesome because you can apply the cream without ever having to get any of it on your hands – SCORE!!!

This diaper cream was recommended to me by several parents, and it works REALLY well!  I have been very pleased with this product, and it makes a great gift basket idea (especially with the BabyBum Brush).

This one looks weird, but it is SUPER helpful with runny and snotty noses!  This particularly comes in handy when you are trying to take pictures, but first want to get the crud out of baby’s nose.  πŸ™‚

I know that this looks strange, but it is honestly one of my FAVORITE products on the market!  This works very well and is so easy to use!  I cannot tell you how many times we have used this over the past couple of years, and it is A MUST HAVE for new moms, in my opinion!

Nuby Teether w/Case (link HERE)

This is a definite for baby gifts because it is so inexpensive, yet SO HELPFUL!  Madeline loved chewing on this in her carseat, and I really liked that it came with a case.  You can’t beat the price for the amount of use this thing gets.

Munch Mitt (link HERE)

This was A TOTAL LIFESAVER, and whoever invented it is a GENIUS!  It is a teether that straps to their hands, so it can’t be dropped in the floor.  It also comes with a little bag, which is a bonus!  Madeline absolutely loved this thing, and this is one of my GO-TO GIFTS when I attend a baby shower.

Sophie the Giraffe Teether (link HERE)

I have no idea what is so special about these guys, but babies and toddlers LOVE these!  Madeline has used this little guy for over TWO YEARS, and STILL sleeps with it every night!  I know that they are on the expensive side, but this teether has definitely stood the test of time.  Even if it is outside of your budget, make sure and register for one of these, because people love buying them as gifts!  πŸ™‚

Aden & Anais Muslin Swaddle Blankets (link HERE)

These are super soft, lightweight and wonderful!  I especially liked using these in the spring, before the weather was completely warm.  They come in a ton of pretty colors and patterns, which is always fun!

These little blankets went on many walks while I was on maternity leave!  πŸ™‚

They also worked well in the winter during car trips!  πŸ™‚  They are SO SOFT and really are a lovely gift!

What do you think would make a great practical baby gift?  Please let me know, because I am always looking for fun new products to try.  Thanks for reading, and have a great week!

The newborn Boppy Lounger saved us! I had the regular Boppy for feeding and tummy time, but I swear I feel like Rowan spent the first six months on that lounger. She had terrible reflux and I was always nervous about just using pillows to elevate her head. She still drags it around the house on occasion, (she’s almost two) and naps on it like a regular pillow.
