Madeline’s Baptism – Part 1 – A Preview Of Her Big Day

Sunday was such a special day for our family!!!  Madeline Grace was baptized in a private ceremony, and it was absolutely perfect.  The weather was gorgeous, and we were able to spend time with our closest friends and family.  We don’t have the main pictures back yet, but I wanted to go ahead and show you the shots that I was able to capture with my phone.  Look how pretty the church looked with all of the sunshine!!!

I was over the moon when I saw the picture below!!!  I am so happy that we were able to capture a picture of Miss Madeline smiling.  She was very happy the whole ceremony, which was wonderful.  As I am a huge fan of bonnets, she definitely had to have one for her big day!!  🙂

I love the picture below of Madeline and her daddy!  Take a peek at her bracelet.  Bradley actually gave this to her for her first Christmas, which made it even more special.  I am so happy that it fit!!!  🙂  Miss Madeline is not nearly as big of a fan of bonnets as her mommy (she actually took/ripped hers off right after the ceremony – LOL), so she sported a bow for part of the time!  🙂

I am not going to lie….. I did spend a bit on her gown and bonnet.  HOWEVER, I am planning on giving it to her as an heirloom piece to use for her children one day.  For whatever reason, one of my favorite things is baby clothes.  I know that a lot of people think that they are excessive and silly, but I love them.  I try to save money on things that are not important to me (cars, eating out, etc…), so I can spend more on things I love.  If you look at your budget and really examine on how you spend your money, you can be intentional in your spending and put more money into what category is important to you.

For those who are curious, Maddie’s gown and bonnet are from the company Pieces By Tam.  They specialize in handmade children’s clothing for portraits, baptisms and other special occasions.  They can customize pieces to your taste, which I think is really great.  I picked out the style of gown, and then had them add the lace at the bottom and the embroidered cross on the collar.  They also have coordinating bonnets, which is definitely my favorite part!  🙂

Below is a wonderful picture of our family.  Not everyone could make it, since we live so far away, but it was nice to have a large portion present for the ceremony.

Below is a picture of Miss Madeline at her luncheon.  Her gown was very long, so we decided to change her clothes into something a little more comfortable.  This little bubble is from Shrimp & Grits Kids, her double ruffle socks are Jeffrey’s and her shoes are L’amour.  I actually had all of this in her closet already, so we just reused it for her event.  Since Mommy went a little crazy on her gown, it was definitely nice/necessary to save money on her party outfit!!  🙂
