How To Have Less Stress & More Fun

With all of the hustle and bustle of daily life, it is very easy to experience stress.  As our calendars fill up with activities, even if they are fun activities, life can seem way too hectic.  Here are my top ways to reduce the amount of stress in your life and have more fun!

Keep up with your daily chores and cleaning as much as possible – A lot of people wait until Saturday to do a marathon day of laundry and cleaning.  Who wants to take up their only time off doing chores?  Not me!!!  If you keep up with everything during the week, it will free up a ton of time for fun on Saturdays and Sundays.  Also, try to not schedule too many of your kids’ activities and lessons on the weekend.  Use this time for some family fun!

Make sure and do something for yourself every once in a while – If you are not careful, your whole life can easily get consumed by your children and their activities.  Please don’t forget that you need to take care of yourself too!  Make sure and do something fun for yourself.  This can include exercising, coffee with friends, or whatever else you like to do.  Just make sure to do this periodically to remove yourself from the “daily grind” of everyday life.

Do one week “lookaheads” to see what exactly is on the schedule for your upcoming week – Also, look to see if your children have any impending projects or items they have to bring to school on a certain day.  It is much easier if you know ahead of time, because you can plan ahead.  You don’t want to be running errands the night before something is due.  You will be scrambling around town, which will cause a ton of unnecessary stress.

Do as much as possible the night before to allow you to ease into your morning – Have lunches packed, outfits laid out, etc.  This will free up some time for you to grab a calm cup of coffee before the daily chaos begins.

Plan To Go Out On A Date With Your Spouse – If you put it on your calendar, then it is much more likely to happen.  It is also much easier to find a babysitter EARLY if you want to go out with your significant other. 🙂  Once you have children, it is very easy to accidentally forget about your spouse.  Make sure and schedule some fun dates with your honey!

What are your suggestions for reducing stress?  Please let me know, because I would love to hear from you.  Thank you so much for stopping by, and have a great day!
